The executive board of the National Federation of Handicrafts within the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts (UTICA) held on Wednesday in Tunis, a meeting chaired by Mr. Hedi Jilani, the president of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts (UTICA) in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Borhene Sfia, the chairman of the federation.
This meeting is part of a series of regular meetings held by the President of UTICA with executive offices of national federations with a view to be in the know about the concerns of professionals' and discuss the difficulties that the sector faces.
On his part, Mr. Sfia gave a presentation on the handicrafts' sector activities and the pace of its development in recent years.
The executive board members discussed some of the difficulties encountered by certain handicrafts activities such as the making of rugs, traditional dress and jewelry.
They also stressed the necessity to strengthen cooperation between the federation and the National Handicrafts Office to ensure the development of the sector.
