Muscat: Saraya Bandar Jissah recently announced that it has awarded the construction contract of Zaha, the first residential zone package, to Towell Construction & Co. LLC, an excellent grade construction company and part of W. J. Towell & Co. (LLC), experienced in similar construction works in Oman.
An agreement was signed last week between Sheikh Hamood bin Sultan Al Hosni, CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah, and Imad Kamal Sultan, vice chairman & managing director of W. J. Towell & Co. (LLC).
'Zaha', whose very name means 'a promise of prosperity' in Arabic, is perched on a hillside and is positioned at the very heart of the Saraya Bandar Jissah development. It will be easily accessible through the main arterial road which leads to the beachfront hotels.
Sheikh Hamood, commenting on the occasion said, "We are very pleased to be working with Towell Construction & Co. LLC as their projects around the Sultanate are a reflection of their market leading expertise and attention to detail, we are confident that they will do a commendable job with Zaha."
The appointment of Towell Construction & Co. LLC and Co for the construction of Zaha comes after a competitive tender process and subsequent negotiation, marking the next development phase post the awarding of an infrastructure project and two hotel contracts.
The Zaha Zone package includes the construction of 14 units of three-bedroom detached villas, 29 units of three-bedroom semi-detached villas and 21 blocks, each block having 4 two-bedroom apartments and 2 three-bedroom duplexes. A total of 169 properties are planned to be ready for occupation by 2016.
The gross built up area of this residential zone is 62,641 square metres and all properties are distributed on both sides of the road. The value of the Zaha contract with Towell Construction & Co. LLC is OMR21.5 million.

LLC noted, "The package awarded to us will entail construction of the residential units, the main park, different pocket parks between properties and associated landscape designed by international consultants to a very high standard. Since its inception in 1994, Towell Construction & Co. LLC has carried out maintenance projects for WJ Towell's property division, both for their new and re-development projects.
Over the last decade, TCC has established themselves as a construction company of note, specialising in medium-sized projects. In 2005, TCC went on to become an excellent grade construction company and has built a solid base for construction plants and machinery.
They have widened their spectrum of experience outside housing and have successfully completed multiplex cinema halls, warehouses, industrial projects and more.
Saraya Bandar Jissah, which is being developed in partnership between Omran and Saraya Oman, is located on the outskirts of Muscat on a secluded beach surrounded by the Hajar Mountains.
