Dubai Anant Srinivas Subramanian from Delhi Private School Sharjah (DPS) scored highest among UAE students in the All India Senior School Certificate exams when results were announced by the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) yesterday.

The 18-year-old scored an aggregate of 98.2 per cent marks, becoming the overall topper in the UAE as well as in the Science stream. In the commerce stream, Indian High School (IHS) Dubai’s Hensel Frank Henry topped with 96.8 per cent, while Vaishali Vinod of Our Own English High School topped the Arts stream with 95.2 per cent.

Speaking to Gulf News, Srinivas credited his teachers, parents and his elder brother for his outstanding achievement.

Srinivas, scored 100 in physics, 99 in Math, 99 in Computer Science, 98 in Chemistry and 95 in English. “I just did what I regularly do, that is balance my work and do things on time. I sleep properly, focus hard when I study and try to understand the concept,” said the youngster who has been to DPS Sharjah since Grade 4.
