1968 -- Kuwait signs first cooperation agreement with the Soviet Union.

2001 -- The National Assembly approves a draft law which organizes foreign capital and direct investment in the state of Kuwait.

2002 -- United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime regional branch for North Africa and the Middle East awards Sheikha Hussa Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah as Arab Woman of 2001.

2006 -- Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues law on ratifying the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, which Kuwait signed in December 2000, and two appended protocols; one on countering and punishment related to human trafficking, and the other on curbing illegal immigrant entry to a state's territories, whether by land, sea, or air.

2006 -- Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad issues law concerning agreement to host UN offices for assistance for Iraq.

2006 -- Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issues law approving Kuwait joining signatories of the 1994 Vienna agreement on nuclear security.

2006 -- Pioneer Kuwaiti actor Khaled Al-Nefisi passes away aged 69. He was among the first to work in theatres in Kuwait and was known through a long list of very successful and quality productions in media in general.
