The Torch Doha, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, has received ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System accreditation from MS Certification. Following a thorough assessment and audit of the hotel's management system and processes, MS Certification awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System accreditation to the hotel management at a ceremony on Wednesday. In addition, formal training has been provided to some management personnel for internal auditing purposes in order to maintain consistency in the system and successful implementation.
"We are honoured and humbled to be one the first five-star hotels in Qatar to receive the ISO 9001:2008 certification. This ensures that we have a management system manual in place, which is vital to our activity. When applied, the manual allows for managing effectively the hotel processes," said Sherif Sabry, hotel manager. The certification consists of written procedures, documents and record formats, which allow management personnel to use the correct processes, offering detailed guidance on key management activities.
The production of the manual will be communicated across all the departments. "This certification demonstrates that we at The Torch Doha emphasise on adopting international standards of quality and service within the hospitality industry," said Sabry. MS Certification is accredited by the international accreditation agency, JAZ-ANZ.
