MUSCAT -- Much awaited the Cave project is all set to be inaugurated this Thursday by Nasser bin Hamoud bin Ahmed al Kindi as the Secretary- General of Royal Court Affairs.
Located at Darsiat, The Cave Muscat Restaurant comprises eight international restaurants including Italian, Brazilian, Mexican, and Mediterranean restaurants offering recipes and cuisines from a variety of countries and nations all over the world; and 20 kitchens service Indian, Chinese, Lebanese, Turkish and Omani recipes.
The 2,000 people-capacity complex of restaurants, which is the largest in the Sultanate of Oman, has been designed to match the nature; the surrounding mountains and provided with 450 parking lots.
Owned by Falcon for Tourism Investment LLC, which is a multi-million rial Omani company that built and operates several 5 star properties in Oman, the project is expected to be a value added to the tourism sector in Oman. It is expected to attract a big turnout of visitors and tourists as it offers international dining experiences through one place.
The complex as a destination features the harmony of traditional elements of the Omani culture, heritage and the modern and environmental traits of the Sultanate.
According to Shaikh Salim bin Nasser al Siyabi, Chairman of Falcon for Tourism Investment, the project is expected to create 300-350 new jobs; most of them will be occupied by the nationals. Falcon had an initial agreement with Oman Tourism College to train and rehabilitate 50 graduates, as a first batch, to join the restaurant in a variety of positions. Oman Tourism College is providing the "Cave Muscat" with a group of graduates who will be the first batch to join a variety of vacancies at our project.
It took three years to build the "Cave", and an amount of more than RO 7 million.
Once the Cave is operational the company will begin working on the second phase, which is the resort. The mega resort is expected to feature a seven-star hotel with 350 keys, multipurpose halls, a conference centre, spa, shopping facilities and multi-storey parking lots with a total capacity 800 to 900. Al Siyabi added that the resort would include 24,000 square metres of shopping area, 14,000 square metres of water features, and 1 14,000 square metres of a commercial facility for gift items.
Meanwhile, the restaurant complex eight fine dining outlets embody the spirit of culinary eclecticism dishing up fare from around the world -- Oman, Italy, Asia and the Middle East. Al Manjur is the Omani restaurant and the others are Harbour, Clouds -- The Terrace and The Garden and the Asiana.
