Nucaf Tellicherry beat ECMIT by three wickets in the DCC Floodlit Summer Cup tournament being organised by the Dubai Cricket Council at the DCC grounds.

ECMIT won the toss and started cautiously against the Tellicherry opening bowlers, Usman Kutty and Gopal Jassapara, to try and do well in their last league outing. However, the Tellicherry bowlers kept them on a tight leash for the first 13 overs, giving away only 42 runs.

Captain Shahtaj Shaji and Azhar Gul broke the shackles to construct their innings, but Shaji fell with the total at 42. One- down batsman Azhar Gul and Sahan then dominated the proceedings with a defiant partnership of 65 runs.

Gul hit 43 runs and Sahan cracked 28 runs to accelerate the run rate.

ECMIT posted a respectable 140 runs in 25 overs.

Fourteen-year-old leg-spinner Adnan picked 4 for 25. For Tellicherry Shajil performed the rescue-act through a quick 25. Usman Kutty applied himself to make a patient 13 runs to see Tellicherry through in the twenty-third over.
