Damascus - The 1st International Conference and 3rd Scientific Conference of the Syrian Physical Therapy Society kicked off on Sunday in al-Bassel Auditorium at al-Assad University Hospital in Damascus.
The conference is held in cooperation with the Arab Confederation for Physical Therapy and the Faculty of Health Sciences at al-Baath University in Homs.
In a speech, Rector of Damascus University Dr. Wael Mualla stressed the importance of the conference due to the various subjects it discusses in the field of physical therapy and the diversity of participating researchers and participants.
Dr. Mualla expressed hope that the deliberations of the conference will lead to a better understanding of physical therapy and its modern applications, which would lead to advancing the services provided by this medical field.
For their part, the Arab Confederation for Physical Therapy's rotating President Dr. Salamah al-Daajeh, its Secretary General Dr. George al-Bawari and Representative of Physical Therapy Faculties and Institutes Society at the Confederation Dr. Imam Hassan al-Najmi affirmed the importance of the conference at a time when physical therapy has become an integral part of the medical system encompassing various medical fields due to its positive effects and lack of side-effects.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Physical Therapy Society Dr. Bashar Kheir and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at al-Baath University Dr. Mutaz al-Atassi stated that the conference aims to clarify the important role of qualified physical therapy, in addition to encouraging doctors and researchers to get involved in this field.
