Ride of your life

This just landed in Dubai -- and it doesn’t get more interactive than this. Strap up and experience the ride of your life with the new XD Dark Ride, a theatre featuring 3D graphics complete with 4D effects like wind, motion and light. The ride also comes with multiplayer gaming via movies including Banditos (the Bandits), Forbidden Mine, Zombies and Pirates in XD interactive formats. The ride is now open at Magic Planet in Mall of the Emirates. Entrance is Dh20 per movie.

Coach + Tivoli Audio

This one’s a match made in chic geek heaven. American audio experts Tivoli Audio and high-end leather goods company Coach have partnered to create a limited-edition version of the popular Tivoli PAL BT Bluetooth Portable Radio. Available in either Coach leather or genuine lizard, the radio features Bluetooth wireless technology in addition to analog AM/FM tuner. Just switch to the Bluetooth position and once paired, stream your music wirelessly from any smartphone, tablet or PC. It’s that simple. The radios will be available from June for Dh1,950 in Coach stores in Mall of the Emirates, The Dubai Mall and Marina Mall Abu Dhabi.

HTC’s got a new Desire

Riding on the back of HTC’s high profile One is the mid-range dual-sim Desire 600, which was announced last week. Powered by Android, this smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera and features the One’s BlinkFeed, the news and social media feed, as well as the dual front-facing speakers and BeatsAudio software. The Desire 600 is rumoured to be hitting shop shelves next month. No word on pricing yet.
