MUSCAT -- Ahmed bin Abdul Karim al Hooti, Member of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Head of Small and Medium-size Enterprises Committee (SMEC) said that OCCI is satisfied with its performance over the past few months with regard to supporting small and medium enterprise sector, adding that OCCI is ambitious to provide further support to those institutions through numerous activities and programmes.
He told the Omani News Agency (ONA) that OCCI is working on the establishment of the first Club of Entrepreneurs, which will be an important step in entrepreneurship, as there is a coordination with the Public Authority for the Development of Small and Medium-size Enterprises, adding that OCCI has made significant achievement in this regard.
He added that there are four tasks in SMEC, including Awareness, Finance, Government Procedures and issues concerning the facilitation of procedures for entrepreneurs, saying that the teams will work according to well-thought plans that will contribute to the transformation of the performance of entrepreneurs.
He also said that SMEC is working hard to find an incubator that will help entrepreneurs to select their projects through an instructional guide that contributes to the selection of projects and succeed in them.
