The General Secretariat of the Arab Maghreb Trade Union (USTMA) reiterated its commitment to the Maghreb project whose contours had been finalised during the early 90s in Maghreb summits, ministerial councils and meetings of specialised committees and different components of civil society, particularly USTMA.

In this statement released on the celebration of the 21st anniversary of the foundation of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), USTMA underlines that the trade union is seeking to materialise Maghreb trade unionists' aspirations for the building of a unified Arab Maghreb and contribute, alongside active forces in Maghreb countries, in materialising AMU Charter, out of conviction that trade union unity is a crucial element of overall Maghreb unity.

In this same statement, USTMA commends the creation of the Maghreb Union of Businessmen and Maghreb Union of Farmers.
