Springbok legend Naas Botha and Welsh Rugby Union chairman David Pickering will be the special guests of honour at the popular annual dinner traditionally held just before the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens.
The mixed black tie event will be hosted by the Arabian Gulf RFU at Le Meridian Mina Seyahi on November 29 (7.30pm). Botha needs no introduction as one of the greatest Springbok players of all time. The fly-half was for many years South Africa's record points scorer.
He won a total of 28 caps over a period of 12 years but was denied many more appearances by his nation's sporting isolation during the apartheid era.
Botha, who also captained South Africa, is now a respected TV commentator. He will be joined on the top table in Dubai by Pickering, who has been widely credited for work behind the scenes which has been pivotal to Wales' recent on-field resurgence.
He won 23 caps in the back row from 1983-87 and went on to act as national team manager under Graham Henry before being elected chairman of the WRU.
