Tehran - Iran's gigantic South Pars gas field is instrumental in the country's national economic development, said Mohammad Baqer Nobakht, vice-president for planning and strategic supervision.
Nobakht added that President Hassan Rouhanis administration is determined to develop hydrocarbon fields which Iran shares with neighboring countries, the Petronews Agency Network Shana reported on Sunday.
Iran shares South Pars with Qatar in the Persian Gulf.
Phase 12,which is close to coming on-stream, is expected to produce 84 mcm/d of gas for injection into national gas pipeline, 120,000 b/d of gas condensate and 750 tons per day of granulated sulfur.
A consortium of Iranian companies led by Petropars is operating the phase.
