South Korean Ambassador to Iran, Kim Young-Moke, met with Iran's Director General of Gilan Ports and Shipping Organization, Farhad Kouhsari.

The ambassador called for boosting trade between Iran and South Korea.

Young-Moke added that Iranian ports and shipping infrastructure including Bandar Anzali are according to the international standards.

Iran is a good country for exchange of merchandise due to its location at Caspian Sea's coast, a convenient sea-way to European countries and a good ground, air and rail ways to Middle-East states, he said.

Referring to two sides' longstanding amity, Kouhsari said that Iran plays active role in the world economy by exporting oil, gas, petrochemical products, handicrafts, hand-woven carpets and caviar.

He said that Iran has taken big steps and planned major programs for securing foreign investments.

Creating jobs for 1,000 people and providing banking facilities to support industrial projects are part of the programs, Kouhsari said.

During his 3-day travel to Gilan province, Young-Moke aims to get familiarized with economic and tourism potentials of the province.
