As part of Tunisia's ambitious program which aims at building 10 technopoles in several governorates to disseminate digital culture and new technologies within the next ten years, a strategic study on the creation of a technological pole in Sousse was recently achieved to make the capital of the Tunisian Sahel, an international hub for new services and information technologies.

The 3rd phase of this study was presented at the Regional Council of the governorate of Sousse, during which the main changes recorded in the urban fabric of the region, were outlined.

The study focuses on the economic and urban extensions between the main urban areas and other regions so as to facilitate the integration of Sousse in Tunisia's ICT dynamic.

There are currently 7 technological poles in operation in Tunisia (El Ghazala, Borj Cédria, Tunis, Bizerte, Sfax, Monastir, Sousse and Sidi Thabet), in addition to 3 new ones still underway (Jendouba, Gafsa and Médenine).
