SOHAR -- The Sohar Market is expected to be completed in August. Implemented by the Sohar Development Office, the RO 2,500,000 two-storey project is located at Al Hujra on an area of 4,575 square metres. The ground floor includes 28 shops while the first floor has two restaurants and an exhibition that comprises a collection of photos that narrate the historic events in Sohar and books that highlight the market, its importance, its role during the previous era and old instruments used by tradesmen in old times. The design of the building follows Oman's architecture style. The market has four gates. It is expected that the market will contribute in reviving the trade movement and regain its importance.
