Ningbo: The Skydive Dubai pair of Jay Price and Sultan Al Dhaheri continued where they left off on Saturday as they outpaced overall leaders Fazza to win the Chinese Grand Prix, the sixth round on the UIM Skydive Dubai XCAT World Series, here on Sunday.

Sponsored by Baia Blu D’oriente in this race, Al Dhaheri and Price started off in pole position in this 16-lap race and the leaders ensured they kept the pace to finish less than five seconds clear of chasing Fazza with Arif Al Zafein and Mohammad Al Marri onboard their new boat.

On Saturday, the Fazza duo of Al Zafein and Al Marri had done well to win yet another Dubai Duty Free Speed Cat Run on the Meishan Bay. But on Sunday, it was Al Dhaheri and Price turning around the first buoy after starting in pole to keep a steady pace and seal the win.

Run before a capacity holiday crowd, Price — a former Formula One powerboat world champion — and Al Dhaheri finished 16 laps on the 3.4 Nm course in just 4.66 seconds clear of the overall champions.

Mouawad, with the Swiss-American pair of Omar Danial and Gary Ballough, took third place a further 20.41 seconds adrift, while Six, who were champions in Arona, Italy in the fifth round, came in fourth.

Results of Chinese Grand Prix: 1. 7. Sky Dive Dubai (Sultan Al Dhaheri/Jay Price); 2. Fazza (Arif Al Zafein/Mohammad Al Marri); 3. Mouawad 50 (Omar Danial/Gary Ballough); 4. Six (Luca Nicolini/Tomaso Polli); 5. Westerlund Racing (Joakim Kumin/Erik Stark).
