Silicone stick glue production factory was inaugurated in Aras Free Trade Zone (AFTZ), East Azarbaijan province, with private investment worth 31 billion rials, said a senior official of Aras Free Zone.

Abolfath Derafshipour added that the factory would produce silicone stick glue in the first phase and PVC glue in the second and third phase.

The unit started its activities in an area of 6,000 square meters.

"Its products will be exported to Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Georgia, Iraq, Armenia, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan Republic," he said.

Derafshipour put the forex savings made by the project at $2.2 million, noting that the complex has generated 30 direct and 35 indirect jobs.

Aras Free Trade Zone is located on the bank of Aras River that forms natural borders with Azerbaijan, Armenia and Nakhichevan.

The AFTZ covers about 1,000 square kilometers and is located between two beautiful protected areas, namely Kiamaki and Arasbaran. It is about 137 kilometers from Tabriz, the industrial hub of northwest Iran.
