The Night Souq on Al Seef Street has received an enthusiastic response from Dubai Shopping Festival visitors.
Despite the chilly weather over the last few days, thousands have journeyed to the open air market to check out the bargains on offer.
The Night Souq has 70 outlets offering high quality brands and discounts, shopping hours extending late into the night and entertainment and food areas.
It is proving to be one of the most popular venues of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) 2005.
"This year, the Night Souq is bigger and much better organised than before. My whole family loved shopping and trying the many games in the open air atmosphere. My father also enjoyed the experience," said Adil Abdul Gani, an Egyptian, whose family had an enjoyable outing to the Night Souq at the weekend.
"The organisers have been very thoughtful in providing plenty of seating, where people can relax after long hours of shopping," he said.
This time around, the Night Souq includes shops selling fashion garments and accessories, consumer electronics, cosmetics, jewellery, stationery, textiles and watches.
The organisers have ensured all participating outlets are offering quality goods at wholesale prices. There are also several cafes and restaurants.
"I did not expect such good offers, and I have shopped much more than I had expected. I also enjoyed the traditional food served here, which gave me a taste of Arab culture," said Caloy Serrlo, who hails from the Philippines.
"Although there were many visitors, the Souq has been so well organised that it was easy to walk around, despite the crowds," said Mohammad Saleh.
He was among those who visited the Night Souq at the weekend.
"Every year, the DSF's organisers become more creative. The strategic location of the Night Souq beside the Dubai Creek, the excellent prices and the timings are the main reasons for its success," said Mohammad Bin Dalmooj, another visitor.
The Night Souq is open from 8pm to 2am, from Saturday to Tuesday. The Souq remains open till 3am, from Wednesday to Friday.
