Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy and Commerce, has issued a ministerial decision forming the National E-Commerce Committee.

Under the decision, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, managing director of Tejari.com and head of the E-Government Executive Team, will be the chairwoman. The committee includes 11 members.

The members are Tareq Saeed Al Noman, Undersecretary of the General Information Authority; Saud Hamad Al Qasimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs in the Ministry of Economy and Commerce; Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs in the Ministry of Finance and Industry; Saleh Hassan Al Dhafeer, Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs in the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Awqaf; Brigadier Abdul Rahman Salem Al Hajiri, director of the Legal Affairs Department in the Ministry of Interior; Ahmed Abdul Kareem Julfar, director-general of Comtrust; Mohammed Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Assistant director-general of Information Technology in the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry; Khalifa Salem Al Dhaheri, director of the Emirates E-Switch Board in the UAE Central Bank; Ali Mohammed Al Bloshi, Head of the Human Rights Section in the Ministry of Information and Culture; Ahmed Ali Al Kindi, Head of the Systems and Information Section in the Ministry of Economy and Commerce; and Fatima Khalaf Al Hosnai, the Committee's rapporteur in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The Cabinet approved the formation of the committee last October 20. The committee was assigned to draw up a national plan on the employment of e-commerce and all related issues.
