KUWAIT, April 5 (KUNA) -- First deputy prime minister, minister of Interior and minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received Wednesday chairman of the security committee General Mohammad Al-Bader.

The Interior ministry said in a statement that Sheikh Jaber gave his instructions to the committee members, which is made up of Dr. Jassem Beshara, Dr. Mohammad Al-Saraawi and Brigadier Jassem Al-Hasawi and Tawfiq Buhamad.

Sheikh Jaber also received municipal council chairman Abdulrahman Al-Humaidan and his deputy Salah Al-Asousi.

Sheikh Jaber congratulated them for the outcome of the by-elections that were held in the fifth constituency.

Al-Humaidan appreciated the role of the Interior ministry which helped reflect the bright democratic picture of Kuwait.

Sheikh Jaber Al-Sabah also received chairman of the society of prisoners Fayez Al-Enezi and board members. The minister affirmed the government's full support for the society to carry out its humanitarian role.

Sheikh Jaber also received chairman of Kuwait bar society Abdullatif Sadeq and society's board members, and discussed obstacles facing the work of society.

Sheikh Jaber vowed to remove all obstacles and emphasized on the "leading legal role" of the society to defend freedoms.

Sheikh Jaber also received vice-chairman of the national committee to fight narcotics Khaled Al-Hamad and secretary general of the committee Dr. Ahmad Al-Samdan. The committee members thanked Sheikh Jaber for sponsoring the latest regional conference to combat narcotics.

Sheikh Jaber received the governor of Ahmadi Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah who presented a book about "dialogue between Sharia and Democracy." Sheikh Jaber thanked Sheikh Ibrahim for the valuable book.
