Dubai, 11 Jan.05 (WAM) -- Nakheel confirmed today that the AlShamal winds hit the UAE coastline, where three workers on the reclamationlevel outside the breakwater were pulled into the sea due to the strongcurrents and high water level caused by the wind surge.
''The workers who are from a Sharjah based contracting company subcontracted by Jan De Nul to build the breakwater were pulled out safelyall except one, of Indian nationality, who until this moment is stillmissing, a company press statement said.
It said that rescue officers, police helicopters and divers wereworking continuously and will go on throughout the night in an endeavourto locate the missing worker. Nakheel is providing full cooperation andsupport to the local authorities in order to help with the search.
''Nakheel will under go an investigation on the safety measures itscontractors apply when working on its properties especially waterfrontdevelopments, it added.
