Seven Seas beat Farooq Restaurant in the final to lift the second Shijna Cricket Cup. The tournament was held at the Unimix and Seven Seas Ground at Al Qouz area and was organised by Seven Seas Sports Club, under the auspicious of Dubai Cricket Council.
The prizes were donated by Shijna Trading Est.
In the final, Seven Seas beat Farooq Restaurant Club by five wickets. Farooq Restaurant, batting first, had scored 172 in 24.5 overs. Rafi (26) and Mumtaz (29) Ayub (33 n.o.) were the highest scorers of the team as the batting side lost their wickets quickly.
The Seven Seas team was a disciplined bowling outfit, with Freddy taking three wickets giving away 42 runs, whereas Satish, Irfan and Tanvir chipped in with two wickets each.
Chasing the total, Seven Seas Shipchandlers accomplished the score easily losing five wickets in 23.2 over. The main scorers were Qadar (32), Tuan (34), Irfan (24) and Zubair (53).
Arif of Shijna Trading distributed the prizes and announced that the Shijna Cricket Cup would be an annual fixture and that he was pleased to see high-quality cricket.
