Aleppo, north Syria, (SANA) - Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri on Thursday inaugurated several service, road, tourism and development projects at a cost of SYP 2,946 billions (1 USD equals 47 SYP) on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Correction Movement.

The Premier has launched six projects including: the main water pumping station in Abu Sfitah in al-Hoss Mount, southeast Aleppo, the road junctions of al-Tawhid Pilgrimage, Tishreen Bridge, Carlton Hotel and the 5-star Bayt Salahyia Heritage Hotel.

The inaugurated main water pumping station in Abu Sfitah aims at providing water to138 villages in al-Safira and Eastern Samaan regions (200,000 inhabitants).

The SP 575-million-cost first phase of the project, which was inaugurated today, should ensure waters for 47 villages, while the second would provide water to 41 villages and the 3rd to 50 villages.

The other three road projects costing SP 1,16 billions aim at solving road problems in the city of Aleppo.

In the tourism sector, Aleppo Carlton and the 5-star Bayt Salahyia Heritage Hotel were inaugurated to accommodate more tourists of the historically important city.

The SYP 900 millions cost the 4-star Carlton Hotel, overlooking Aleppo Citadel, contains 90 rooms and suites, whereas the other hotel contains 44 rooms and 79 beds with a cost of SYP 301 millions.

Premier Otri inspected the implementation of a closed stadium at the Sports City in al-Hamadanyya. He also listened to an explanation about the implementation steps and means of equipping the stadium with modern equipment.

The project is built on an area of 10,000 square meters with an estimated value of SYP 1 billion.

Prime Minister told the reporters that the projects inaugurated is part of the development process witnessed by Syria.
