Dubai: Pranav Thyagarajan, Vishnu Vijay, Vignesh Satyarajan, Kaviya Manoranjan and Aniket Mirji sailed into the third round of the Tru Fruit Natural Ice Cream Rapid Chess tournament for children at the Reef Mall.
Seeded players recorded easy victories in the second round of the competition. Pranav, Aniket, Vishnu and Kaviya shared the lead with two points each.
Mustafa Elmekdad, marketing coordinator of Reef Mall, said: "We are pleased to be associated with the tournament. We have always encouraged activities that nurture talent, especially among the youth, and will continue to lend our support to such initiatives."
A chess clinic was held during the event.
