MUSCAT -- SAP Arabia, the Middle East business arm of SAP AG, yesterday announced that the Saud Bahwan Group (SBG) is leveraging the SAP Dealer Business Management application to revolutionise its business processes in the automotive sector. The agreement for the software was signed in the third quarter of 2006.
Using SAP Dealer Business Management from the SAP for automotive solution set, the Saud Bahwan Group will have in place a process based on strong technical architecture and best business practices to cover automotive service management. SBG will underpin its core business processes with industry-specific functionality from SAP for automotive and integrate disparate legacy systems to ensure a consistently high level of services across its extended dealership network, to improve service to its customers throughout Oman.
Leveraging automotive industry-tailored channel management capabilities, the company will focus on service management to provide all channel partners with visibility across the entire order-fulfilment process -- from customer request to delivery. SAP Dealer Business Management will be used to integrate service management across their Oman-wide network. SBG wholly owns all of the showrooms, service and parts centres throughout Oman for their various franchises.
"SAP software is a key enabler helping us to achieve the aims we have set for our business transformation," said a senior official from the Saud Bahwan Group. "We have always deployed cutting-edge technologies to ensure customer satisfaction and this has enabled us to be at the number one position for more than three decades. Our solution from SAP is truly a first in the automotive sector in Oman. We opted for SAP solution on account of its scalable, reliable and user-friendly software. With the rollouts of SAP's automotive suite appli cations, we will have a worldwide standard set of end-to-end business processes," said the official.
Supporting SGB's aims to keep all information and communications technology (ICT) systems linked for seamless workflows, SAP Dealer Business Management solutions will leverage the end-to-end process integration capabilities of the SAP NetWeaver platform to simplify and unify purchasing processes and data exchanges with suppliers. The integrated solution also provides users across sales, production and financial departments with comprehensive visibility into the vehicle pipeline to reduce sales costs and improve delivery times. SAP Arabia is managing the project along with its partner L&T Infotech.
"This deployment at SBG will clearly demonstrate the strategic business value companies gain with SAP's integrated solutions," said Essam Enany, President, SAP Arabia. "SAP provides the scope of functionality automotive companies need to unify widespread business networks and efficiently execute end-to-end business processes. We are committed to helping our customers master their unique business challenges. By working with leading companies like the Saud Bahwan Group, we will continue to deepen our expertise of the auto industry's unique requirements," he noted.
