Riyadh, 15 Ramadan,1437 AH, 20 June,2016 , SPA -- Saudi Grains Organization has completed procedures of the third batch of imported wheat for the year 1437/1438 AH, with an amount of (315,000) tons of hard wheat from European or North American or Australian origins.

The Director General of the Organization Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris said in a statement today that the contract for this batch comes to cover local needs and maintain a strategic reserve of wheat, pointing out that the arrival of the third batch of this year will be during September 2016 on board 5 ships, three of them through the Islamic Port of Jeddah with a quantity of 190,000 tons, and King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam on board two ships with a quantity of 125,000 tons.

Al-Faris also noted that with the completion of the third batch, the Organization has contracted this year to import an amount of wheat estimated at 1.8 million tons.
