Sunday, 11 February 2007: DHAHRAN: Saudi Aramco not only sells oil, it also sells safety.

The world's biggest oil producers practice the culture of addressing the safety and health of citizens and their environmental concerns, the head of the company's loss prevention department in Juaymah Plant said Friday.

"More than ever, Saudi Aramco is now being proactive in the safety of every citizen," said Mohammad Al-Khulaifi, loss prevention engineer at the Saudi Aramco Juaymah Plant.

He was the guest speaker of the annual meeting and induction of officers and board of directors of the Philippine Society of Safety Engineers-Middle East Chapter (PSSE-ME).

"Saudi Aramco is able to achieve safety objectives by communicating with the people and the institutions around us, by knowing our customers and what they expect from us, by educating the public, and by motivating and rewarding those who observe the safety regimes we have established," Khulaifi said.

"This is why safety is one of the hallmarks of our corporate vision and objectives."

According to Khulaifi, Saudi Aramco safety engineers are always availbale.

Khulaifi urged safety engineers and technicians having contractual jobs with Saudi Aramco to keep themselves abreast of the safety culture of the company."

He inducted the 2007-2008 officers of the PSSE-ME headed by Engineer Fernando M. Crisosto and the board of directors chaired by Engineer Peter P. Marfa.
