JEDDAH, 14 December 2005 -- The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) yesterday introduced its new emblem, signifying its new identity.
"The new logo follows the approval of Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation," Abdulelah M. Jadaa, director general, public relations and media, Presidency of Civil Aviation (PCA), told a press conference.
The crown prince recently discussed with a high-level GACA team headed by its President Abdullah ibn Mohammed Rahimi the authority's new emblem. The crown prince approved the new emblem and wished them all success.
The emblem is a result of the Cabinet's decision to transform PCA into an independent general authority. "The new logo is designed to express its new identity," said Jadaa who jointly with Khalid Abdullah Al-Khaibari, manager, administration communications and member of the editorial section of PCA magazine, gave a detailed explanation about the idea, elements, and colors of the new emblem.
"The idea behind the new logo symbolizes elements that are basic for this sector. The logo reflects the operations of flights taking off, flying and landing in a continuous cycle, and reflects the dynamism of the industry," Jadaa added.
Musadak Al-Keen, secretary of the PCA board, also explained the finer elements of the new logo
