RIYADH: Acer Computer Mideast has announced Monday the success of its 'Back to School' promotion across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with gains of 45% across all retail outlets, versus 2005 figures.
Running from 23 August to mid-September 2006, Acer's promotion period has already realised huge success with its CE 5430 5 mega-pixel digital camera (promotional price SR399) selling out in all authorised retail outlets, in the first week."We have taken an intentionally aggressive pricing policy across all products at the 'Back to School' promotion this year which we hope is seen as a clear signal to our already developed and expanding consumer base in the Kingdom that we are committed to providing best specification technology at the best possible price," said Tabrez Ahmed, Retail Sales Specialist, Acer Computer - KSA.
Supporting this claim, Acer confirmed that the 1.3 megapixel Orbicam - Acer's built-in camera feature on notebooks with the biggest megapixel size in the market - is now standard on all new models, including the ASPIRE 5600 series - a model included in this year's promotions.
Acer is clearly positioned as the pioneer in bringing built-in cameras to all levels of the notebook market and not simply restricting such technology to the higher-end models. By seeking to offer such technology to a much wider audience, even families in the most modest of income-brackets can take advantage of the latest technology.
Acer recently confirmed its consolidation as the number one notebook vendor in the Kingdom, yet with its 'Back to School' promotion Acer is not content to sit on this knowledge, as promotional prices tumbled even further this year.
Deals on the likes of the Travel Mate 2414 Celeron 1.6 dropping below the SR 2,000 mark and its Pentium 4, 3 Ghz PCs dropping to as low as SR 1,500 demonstrate the clear examples of Acer's commitment to offer great deals to its customers.
"It is down to our efficiency as an organisation that Acer is able to reward our customer base with exciting offers while including empowering technology that many normally associate with higher-end models, or outside of their budget," said Sunil Nair, Country Manager KSA & Egypt.
"We feel it is Acer's ability to respond quickly to market signals and our customers' needs by working closely with all our retail partners to help bring this philosophy of 'best specs at the best price' direct to students and, of course, all of our customers," concluded Nair.
