RIYADH: A world leading business software provider is to train Saudi graduates in business applications and solutions.

Abdul-Raheem Bawazeer, the new managing director for SAP in the Kingdom, said on Tuesday his company has an ambitious plan to help youths gain computer related skills in business applications.

"We have been serving giant companies such as SABIC, Almarai, SAGIA and Saudi Aramco. Now we are extending our services to develop local human resources and help small and medium enterprises," he said.

SAP is to cooperate with King Fahd University For Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Yanbu Industrial College and educational institutions in other regions to update students' skills using the advanced technology.

SAP business solutions assist enterprises and governments globally to improve customer relationships, enhance partner collaboration, create efficiencies across supply chains and business operations, and improve access to information.

With at least 89,000 customers in over 120 countries, the company is listed on several exchanges, including the Frankfurt stock exchange and NYSE.

Based in SAP's Riyadh office, Bawazeer will be responsible for overseeing the company's operations in the strategically important Saudi market.

"I will be focusing on taking forward and developing the great work that has been accomplished in the Kingdom to date," said Bawazeer. He added that Saudization would be his primary aim in training local personnel.

Bawazeer brings strong proficiency to this new position, having held various senior executive roles in KSA over the past 20 years.
