DOHA: Rubber World Industries (RWI), a leading producer of closed-cell rubber insulation 'Gulf-O-Flex' in the Gulf and South-East Asia and part of international business conglomerate, Memon Group, has announced several deals with Qatar-based contractors, worth QR1.1m in total.

The deals involve the delivery of over 2,345 cubic metres of high quality rubber insulation products, including 'Gulf-O-Flex' tubes, sheet rolls and rubber foam tape.

The active role that RWI wishes to take on in Qatar is part of its aims to address Qatar's increasing demand for rubber insulation materials.

RWI's newest customers based in Qatar, include companies such as Penta Trading Group LLC, Qatar Universal, Air Conditioning Technology, and LAFFAN.

Representatives for these companies have confirmed their positive impression of the Gulf-O-Flex brand's insulation properties and its environmental-friendliness.

Gulf-O-Flex products, which has been specifically designed for the HVAC and refrigeration industry, features flexible electrometric thermal insulation and prevents condensation or frost formation in refrigeration items, cold water plumbing and water systems.

These items are also CFC-free, fire proof and smoke-free, retarding heat flow for hot water plumbing and liquid heating.

Recently, RWI announced that it is embarking on large-scale efforts to step up production to 1,800 containers per year, to keep up with the demands for rubber products in Qatar and the region. This will be in line with aims to get Dh60m in revenues for the year 2009.
