RAS AL KHAIMAH, 7 OCT. 04 (WAM)--An academy for technologyand applied sciences was inaugurated here on Wednesday night.
Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, director general of the RasAl Khaimah Free Zone Authority (FZA) cut the ribbon of the Royal College for Applied Science and Technology at the FAZ Knowledge Centre, which is meant to serve as a nucleus of a knowledgevillage in the emirate.
"The College is presently built on a 120,000-foot surface areaand will provide the students with various facilities and services suchas transportation to and fro all over the UAE as well as separate dormitories for male and female students," said Sudhir Gupi, directorgeneral of the College.
He expects the College to draw a great number of students fromaround the country since, he adds, it will offer programmes on pharmacology, dentistry, engineering, management, Information Technology, journalism and mass communications.
Osama Al Omari, FZA director, said the College would havea permanent premises on an area of 210,000 sq. metres at a totalcost of Dh 200 million within the Knowledge Village in future.
