Sunday, 03 February 2008 JEDDAH - A robot designed by five Saudi students from Dar Al-Fikr school bagged the Best Design prize in the First Lego 2007 robots competition. Bara'a Orabi, Hattan Al-Shehri, Abdullah Salih, Hamed Al-Nogali and Khalid Al-Zahrani said the robot has 12 different functions related to energy sources. Abdu Al-Qadir Al-Bakri, Principal at Dar Al-Fikr, said the achievement reflects the students' excellence, capability, qualification in the realm of modern technology.

The First Lego 2007 robot competition was sponsored by King Abdul-Aziz & His Companions Foundation for the Gifted and organized by the National Gifted Training Center in Riyadh. Some 35 male and female schools from all over the Kingdom participated in the competition.
