MUSCAT -- Taameer Investment, one of Oman's leading investment companies, launched its new project The Wave Plaza Hotel during a ceremony at Grand Hyatt, Muscat yesterday in the presence of Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, Minster of Housing. The project located at the marine façade for The Wave Muscat extends over 3,000 square metres at the Marina Plaza façade and includes 200 hotel rooms and suites at a cost of RO 25 million. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the project includes a number of restaurants, business centres, multi-function rooms, a rooftop recreation facilities and fitness centre.
He added that during winter season, the Governorate of Dhofar usually receives record number of tourists and more hotels will cater to the needs of the tourists, especially visiting Salalah. Sulaiman bin Masoud al Harthy, CEO of Taameer Investment, said that the launching of the second project for the company this year after the launching of the five-star Shatha Salalah Hotel in the Governorate of Dhofar comes in a bid to meet the steady growth and demand for four-star hotels. He said that the launch coincides with the completion of the first stage of the expansion of Muscat International Airport. This expansion will make a quantitative leap in the number of flights coming to the Sultanate and will require more number of guest rooms.
