RIYADH: Sulaiman bin Yousef Al-Masoud, acting secretary-general of King Fahd National Library, recently inaugurated the Unified National Platform (Nafad) service, which enables access to the library’s electronic platform with the same username and password used for the Ministry of Interior’s service platform “Absher.”

The new platform was launched in collaboration with the National Information Center (NIC). This is in line with the library’s development processes to achieve electronic governance, and provide sustainable and easy services for researchers and visitors.

The service aims to provide a comprehensive solution for the management and governance of digital identity, and supply the tools to solve the problems that face many government and private parties — especially ones obstructing the procurement of important services that benefit citizens and residents — due to low credibility and trust in digital identity and the possibility of stealing or hacking it.

Al-Masoud said that it was an important step for King Fahd National Library to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and providing services in an easy and fast way.
