ATKINS Railway Project
Atkins Rail, one of the UK's leading international railway consultants, adopted a cautious approach to selecting a cost management system that would meet its needs. Choosing RIB Software's industry-leading software is now proving to be a sound investment.
Atkins Rail is the largest UK-based international railway consultancy. Its unique capability is delivered by more than 1,700 staff and embraces control and systems integration, civil engineering, vehicles, electrification and programme management.

Foster Wheeler
Foster Wheeler embarked on a programme to enhance its estimating processes and systems approximately three years ago. A key element was the decision to invest in an estimating database. As an international engineering and construction contracting company, it produces estimates from major centres in Europe, USA, Asia-Pacific and Africa.
The system has been implemented by the customisation of an available database from RIB Software. This was a collaborative effort across the major Foster Wheeler centres. The most significant benefits were expected for estimates with accuracies of +/-10 per cent, but conceptual estimates at +/-30 per cent would also benefit.
