CAIRO, Apr. 13th, 2010: A collection of lithographs by world-renowned architectural artist David Roberts was opened by UAE Ambassador to Egypt Mohammed Bin Nakheera Al-Dhaheri at the Mohammed Mahmoud Khalil and his Wife Museum in Cairo.
The collection is owned by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, UAE Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah. The 52 lithographs by Roberts were inspired by his journeys through Egypt in 1838 and 1839. Present at the opening ceremony were Egyptian and UAE officials, artists. This is the second exhibition this year to put the said collection on display, Al-Dhaheri noted. An exhibition was inaugurated last March at the Sharjah Art Gallery on The American University in Cairo's New Cairo Campus.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2010.
