ABU DHABI, May 23rd, 2009: Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan gave directives to RCA teams to increase support to local humanitarian issues as well as to expand plans and projects to maintain the high position of the UAE's humanitarian organization.

A large number of individuals in the community are in need of special social, health and humanitarian care from RCA, Sheikh Hamdan was quoted by his advisor for humanitarian affairs Sanaa Darwish Al-Ketbi as she chaired a meeting of RCA's board today.

Al-Ketbi further said Sheikh Hamdan underscored the need for support from all the members of the community for RCA's projects and humanitarian programs aimed at improving the humanitarian situation of the society's most vulnerable groups.

The meeting discussed a number of topics, approved its strategy and viewed Q1 2009 financial report among other documents.
