The Government of Ras Al Khaimah signed on Thursday a construction agreement with Convrgnt Value Engineering LLC, Dubai to build 116 chalets as part of an ambitious expansion plan of the RAK Hilton Beach Club.
The chalets will be built next to the Hilton Beach Club in the picturesque waterfront location at Al Maerid at a cost of Dh90 million.
The agreement was signed by Shaikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Finance Department, and Ashwani K Sharma, managing director of Convrgnt, at the Ruler's Court in the emirate.
The overall expansion plan for the RAK Hilton Beach Club will see the creation of a new hotel with 316 units, including 200 rooms and suites apart from the 116 chalets. The construction of the chalets will be completed in 12 months.
Speaking after the signing in ceremony, Shaikh Faisal said that Ras Al Khaimah was witnessing tremendous growth in the tourism sector which necessitated creation of more facilities and addition of new hotels.
He said that the new project would add to the existing facilities at the RAK Hilton Beach Club and would make it an attractive destination for tourists.
The chalets will be set in a landscaped area featuring private gardens and will offer outstanding facilities. The hotel project will be offered for tender in two months. Atkins is the consultant for the project and the hotel will be managed by Hilton International.
