Ras Al Khaimah: The first phase of the naming and numbering of various areas and streets will be implemented shortly after His Highness Shaikh Saqr Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, issued an Emiri decree approving the first naming and numbering system to be implemented, effective immediately.

The first phase of the project will be implemented in sectors Nos 4 and 6 of Ras Al Khaimah where Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, has approved the new names of those streets and areas.

The starting point for the project will be the area of Khuzzam.

For the project, Ras Al Khaimah has been divided into nine sectors, each of which includes a number of areas where the first phase of the naming and numbering project will be implemented in two sectors.

Work in the rest of the sectors will be done subsequently.

According to the classifications of the project, Ras Al Khaimah comprises 194 areass.

Each area will have its own identity in line with the names of its streets.

The fourth and sixth sectors include the most developed and urban areas such as Southern and Northern Al Dhaid areas, Khuzzam, Al Rafa'a, and Al Jazera Al Hamra.

A senior official of the municipality said that the entire project will be completed within a few months.

The new naming and numbering system includes the numbers of the properties, the names of the streets and each area's postal code.

According to the new system, all properties will have numbers.

Signs showing the names of the streets and areas will be installed on the streets shortly.

Municipal sources said they are using the most advanced technology which meets international standards.
