MUSCAT -- The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) yesterday celebrated the arrival of the first military cargo aircraft to the Sultanate as per the contract concluded with Lockheed Martin of US, which includes the supply of a group of aircraft of this type. The contract comes within the development and upgrading plans implemented by RAFO to ensure carrying out its national assignments and missions. The ceremony marking the reception of the first aircraft at Al Seeb Air Base was held under the auspices of Air Vice Marshal Mattar bin Ali al Obaidani, Commander of RAFO, in the presence of RAFO officers. He added the aircraft will meet SAF training needs and help during natural disasters and adverse weather conditions.
