DUBAI, Jan 16, 2006 (WAM) - Competitions for choosing qualifiersfor the Local Holy Quran Competition, which is one of the activitiesof the Dubai International Holy Quran Competition, will starton Thursday, January 19.
These competitions will be held in different emirates for thosewho have passed the preliminary competitions. The Abu Dhabi Competitionwill be held on the same date at the Abu Dhabi Holy Quran Institute,whereas for the winners of the preliminary competitions fromDubai, Umm Al Quwain, and Ajman, the competitions are being heldand concluded on January 26 at the Hor Al Anz Library, accordingto a report in Khaleej Times.
Competitions for the Al Ain winners will also be held on January26 at the Shaikh Mohammed Bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and ReligiousCentre. The Sharjah Centre for Quran and Sunna, the Ras Al KhaimahHoly Quran Establishment and the Al Fujairah Charitable Societywill hold the qualifiers competition for participants in therespective emirates.
The arbitration panels for the qualifiers and the finals competitionswere formed based on certain criteria that should be met by itsmembers. The final competitions will be held in Dubai for menat the Al Islah Social Society for Men and for women at the WomenDevelopment Society from February 6 to 23.
The organising committee provided all the needed facilitiesfor the success of the competitions. The committee expected thatthis year the event would witness strong competition among contestersand the participating centres. The Dubai Police Punishment EstablishmentDepartment is taking part in the competition for the fourth consecutiveyear. The Media Unit of the Dihqa prepared a booklet about DrAbdul Rahman Al Sudais, preacher and Imam of the Holy Mosquein Makkah.
