Doha: Qtel is offering better value for Qtel Mobile Money customers who transfer money home, as MoneyGram and Qtel Mobile Money have now reduced transfer fees to selected countries through the end of this year.
From December 6 to 31, Qtel has reduced the transfer fee to only QR1 for each transaction to the Philippines, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka - an incredible savings of up to QR19 when sending money to their friends and family. Since the launch of the MoneyGram service for Mobile Money earlier this year, these five countries have been the most popular for remittances, and with the incredible security, convenience and accessibility of Mobile Money, Qtel is confident that even more people will use the service this month.
Qtel expects many customers to benefit from this promotion, as they will be able to send more money home to help pay for things such as school tuition, rent and general purchases.
In order for the greatest number of customers to take advantage of the special offer, Qtel is deploying a specially-modified 'Shop on Wheels' to industrial areas, to help more people learn about the service.
Customers can easily subscribe to Mobile Money by dialling *140# on their mobile phone, then following the instructions to enter their Qatari ID information.
