Almost a decade after its launch, the Egypt-based Watania Group of Companies has emerged as one of the fastest growing companies that provide total fire fighting solutions in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The Watania has taken up several major projects in Qatar. The Watania offer service to some of the prestigious projects in Qatar, including Ras Laffan, Pear Qatar and West bay lagoon, he said.
It also provides world class firefighting equipment including Sprinkler system, Fire suppression, Fire pump and Alarm system. Watania is the sole agent of the Reliable Automatic Sprinklers of the US. The Reliable Sprinklers is one of the world's largest producers of approved automatic fire sprinklers, sprinkler system and control equipment.
"The Reliable has undertaken a major expansion of its manufacturing capability with the construction of new state-of-the-art equipments. It is specialised in the manufacturing of whole sprinkler system components; various types of sprinklers and their accessories, deluge and alarm valves. Pre-pack systems etc...," said Wessam Selim, Fire Alarm Technical Engineer.
Watania Group of Companies consists of three divisions: Watania for Trading and Engineering, Watania for Engineering and Contracting and Watania for Modern Industries. Watania for Trading and Engineering is the sole agent and distributor for more than 15 well known American and European manufacturers in the MENA region. The second company is specialised in the installation and erection of the largest projects of the fire protection systems with permanent qualified staff of engineers who are well trained for the installation, erection and supervision of fire protection systems, while the third company is the first gaseous filling station in Egypt for the filling and refilling of "FM200"gas.
"Our fire sprinkler monitoring products are fast moving pieces. During a fire condition, sprinkler system reliability is critical, whether it is the operation of a sprinkler or the monitoring of the sprinkler system itself. The water flow detectors that we provide is a foolproof tool on monitoring wet pipe fire sprinkler system", said Wessam Selim.
The Watania also offer several specialty water flow detectors. The WFD-EXP line of explosion-proof water flow detectors is intended for hazardous locations, he added.
Watania's another fast-moving product is the smoke detector from "Notifier". Developed on the basis of a most intelligent sensing technology, it is capable of responding rapidly to incipient fire signatures, providing early warning capabilities unmatched in the fire protection industry. It delivers a quicker response to uniform smoke spread, a strong indication of a real life situation, by evaluating sensor readings from up to three adjacent smoke sensors. With extremely low sensitivity levels to act as pre-alarm or maintenance alerts, Supervisory Smoke ID quickly sense trace amounts of smoke from overheating equipment and alerts building maintenance crews to repair or replace the equipment before an emergency exists or property damage occurs.
In Qatar, Watania Group of Companies has its own branch and store at Doha city to serve Qatari market.
