DOHA: Welders in the industries will get the chance to undergo a training course on Welding Technology, Basic Principles and Metallurgy offered by Qatar University on December 21 to December 25.

The course which is organised by the Materials Technology Unit in cooperation with the French Welding Institute (IS Industrie QSTP-B) will offer classroom lectures on Fusion and Non-Fusion Welding Processes; Weldability of Carbon and Low Alloy Steels; Arc Welding and Shielded Metal Arc Welding; Mild and Low Alloy Steel-covered Electrodes; Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and Gas Metal Arc Welding.

Professor Hussien Rahmatalla, Head of Materials at Materials Technology Unit, said the course is designed for technical persons working in industries where welding technology and welding metallurgy are major concerns. "It is also perfect for supervisors, management, consultants, contractors, engineers and sales/marketing personnel who are required to know various welding processes in a broad spectrum of industries", he said. Course fee is QR7500, course manual, refreshment and lunch.
