DOHA - Qatar Chapter of the Institution of Engineers (India) in association with Jaidah Group and its principals Invensys Middle East held a seminar on the latest advances in flow metering technology on May 18 at the Ramada Hotel. Kanagaraj P, Business Development Manager, Invensys was the guest speaker.

Kanagaraj presented Coriolis flow metering solution as the technology of the future. Very high accuracy of 0.1 per cent, widest possible rangeability of 100:1, very good repeatability, compatibility with two phase flow and practically little constraints with respect to installation are some of the features that make Coriolis flow meters the most suitable solution to flow metering requirements, he said. They have found wide applications across practically all industry segments including custody metering he pointed out. Kanagaraj also presented vortex flow meters vis-à-vis Coriolis flow meters and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of both.

Earlier Institution Chairman, UU Menon welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest speaker. Steve Bainbridge, General Manager, Jaidah Group introduced Jaidah Group and the topic. Zaheer Abbas assisted the speaker. Institution Secretary Lekshminarayanan compered the proceedings and Aniruddh Kulkarni presented the vote of thanks.

Secretary Lekshminarayanan announced that the Associate Membership examination of the Institution (AMIE) will be held at the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) from June 2 to 8.
