Doha - Around 30 public relations officers from public and private sectors, and members of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA)-Gulf Chapter, participated in a first-ever conference held on Tuesday.
The conference was organised following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed by Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim Al Thani, Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Qtel, and Hassan Al Hassan, Chairman of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA)-Gulf Chapter. Jassim Ibrahim Fakhroo, the vice president of IPRA-Gulf Chapter, in Qatar addressed the opening session. Thanking Qtel for hosting the meeting and bolstering the activities of the Association, Fakhroo said: "It's a historic day to meet, here in Qatar, with this gathering of public relations elites to discuss aspirations and concerns of this profession".
He further pointed out the two MoUs signed by IPRA-Gulf Chapter with Qtel and Al Sharq printing, publishing and distribution agency for the support and development of the activities of the IPRA-Gulf Chapter.
Fakhroo spoke about the future plans of the Association and urged the participants to work hand in hand for upgrading the concept and important role of the public relations in the society.
