Doha: The Qatar Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (QSPE), the pioneering leader in establishing professional societies and private industry organisations has revealed a new initiative to collaborate with the Qatar Geological Society (QGS).
Due to a lack of capacity in the field of Geology, QGS President Saeed Al Kuwari approached the Chairperson of QSPE, Sheikh Faisal Bin Fahad Al Thani to help boost the capacity of Qatar's expertise in the field.
Sheikh Faisal Bin Fahad Al Thani, the Chairperson of QSPE and Saeed Al Kuwari, President of QGS, agreed on the initiative and discussed the details of various activities such as Distinguished Lecturer Programme, Field trips, support and cooperation for seminars and Technical Talks, which will help disseminate technical knowledge across the oil and gas community in Qatar.
Abdulla Al Sadah, Chairperson of the SPE Young Professionals, Fahad Hussain Al Mussawi, VP to QGS, Jassim Al Mohammadi, Treasurer, also participated in
the meeting.
During the meeting, Sheikh Faisal emphasised that collaborating with the QGS will further enhance the QSPE's mission to collect and disseminate technical information and knowledge in the industry.
Sheikh Faisal also thanks H E Abdulla Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah Deputy Premier, Minister of Energy & Industry for all the support given to QSPE.
The QSPE in collaboration with the QGS is organising a Geological trip on January 28. A total of 130 participants are expected to attend.
