DOHA: Woqood yesterday raised prices of some oil products with effect from today. Petrol (super) would cost 80 dirhams per litre; petrol (regular) 70 dirhams per litre, and diesel 70 dirhams per litre. Price of kerosene will remain unchanged at 40 dirhams per litre.

The official said despite this slight hike, the price of oil products in Qatar and subsidised by the government, still remains the lowest as average petrol prices in the other GCC states are at the least 15 dirhams higher than the new prices of gasoline in Qatar.

The official said the new prices of diesel are similar to price of diesel in some GCC countries and at the least 17 dirham less than others with the exception of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said the hike in oil products subsidised by the government is very light compared to increase in price of oil products in the world which has recently rose to record levels during current year and in turn reflected on increase of volume of government subsidy to the oil products which the Qatari market enjoys.
